Press Release Body: What was not seen since the Indian Cricket League's Edelweiss Challenge began was seen today. The Lahore Badshahs who have remained undefeated till now were today defeated in the first final of the series. This feat was done by the Hyderabad Heroes and it was a six-run win for them against the Badshahs.
This was something which was totally unexpected, at least on the day of the first final match for the team. As yet, the team had scored the maximum points and is on top. But this defeat will certainly shake their self confidence. In today's match, the Badshahs simply struggled to play and get some runs.
The Hyderabad Heroes won the toss and chose to bat first. It is here that Lady Luck favoured them today and they set up a target of 143 runs. The target was pretty achievable but with cricket, there is nothing for sure. The highest scorer in the Hyderabad Heroes was Rayadu who scored 44 runs off 42 balls.
The Lahore Badshahs came on to bat with Nazir and Humayun. The top order of the team crashed badly and the score of the team was a mere 50 runs for four wickets before the first ten overs ended. It was a very bad plight to see the team crumble like this when we have seen them perform really well in the series. The highest scorer in the team was Azhar Mahmood who scored 34 runs off 16 balls. The bowling attack led by Razzaq who obtained 3 wickets was simply superb. The last ball required 7 runs off it but Shahid Nazir lost his wicket leaving the team short of 6 runs. Ambati Rayudu and Stuart Binny were awarded the Men of the Match for their performance.
Let us hope for another exciting match with the next final tomorrow.
